BlueTie Delivers Real-Time Business Data with the Release of BlueTie Mobil
ROCHESTER, N.Y., January 19, 2004 — BlueTie, Inc. a leading worldwide provider of messaging and collaboration technology, announces today the release of BlueTie Mobile; technology built on the new WAP 2.0 standards, designed to enable mobile users to access real-time data on a variety of wireless devices. BlueTie's WAP 2.0 connects cellular phone, PDA, and other mobile users with email, contacts, calendar, and task data in their BlueTie accounts.
The technology is built with XHTML on the front-end, under the WAP 2.0 Specifications from the Open Mobile Alliance. The application communicates in real-time with the BlueTie Server, BlueTie's award-winning collaboration and messaging engine. Users can connect using their mobile phone, or using a PDA with WiFi or modem connection.
"The mobile market is one of the most rapidly evolving technology markets, with 3G deployments enabling end-users to have fast Internet access on mobile devices," said David Koretz, BlueTie President and CEO. "Adding this technology to the BlueTie family increases our technology lead, and opens the door to vast international opportunities as well."
BlueTie expanded its international operations in 2003 to include a facility in Sydney, Australia focused specifically on strategic partnerships in Asia and the Pacific Rim. With the release of BlueTie Mobile, the company will be announcing partnerships with large mobile carriers that will bring this technology, along with the entire BlueTie offering to the region.
WAP 2.0 was developed with three key goals in mind; quick retrieval of data, ability to work on a wide range of mobile devices, and ease of use.
To achieve these goals, BlueTie employed the use of new technologies including adoption of the XHTML standard for application design and interface, a new session management system, and a new series of function calls designed to intelligently reduce the amount of data pushed to the mobile devices. These technological advances vastly improve performance and provide a colorful and graphic-rich interface that is available on WAP 2.0 compatible cellular phones, PocketPC devices, PalmOS-based devices, as well as other mobile devices.
As with most technology releases from BlueTie, WAP 2.0 is available at no additional charge to new and existing BlueTie users.
"Today's business users, and even consumers want to have instant, 24x7 access to the information they need, but are not interested in being tied to a wired Internet connection," said Koretz. "We believe technology like BlueTie Mobile is the future of communication and we are once again leading the way."
