BlueTie Awarded U.S. Patent For Unique Name Recognition Technology
Technology simplifies messaging and collaboration for users

ROCHESTER, N.Y., December 20, 2004 — BlueTie, a leading developer of business and carrier-class email messaging and collaboration solutions, today announced that it has been awarded it's first US Patent for its SimpleClick, Information Autocompletion system. This invention provides users with a name driven, intelligent technology that facilitates electronic communication and collaboration.

The patented technology is driven by simple name recognition. It allows BlueTie users to send an email message, schedule a meeting, or share information by simply clicking a "hot link" of the name of the person they wish to communicate with from a list of contacts. On the back end, the application then recognizes that contact, recognizes what action is requested, fills the field from a database record and transfers the requested information or message accordingly to that person in the correct context (ie: schedule meeting, share files or send a message) - all with one click.

BlueTie's patent award covers the technology behind this information sharing ability to the actual transfer of data between web page frames, the platform that supports that recognition and its' intelligent selection of data.

"We are very pleased that the merits of our application technology have been recognized and allowed without contest by the US Patent and Trademark Office," said David Koretz, President and CEO of BlueTie. "The implications for future unified messaging and collaborative products are immense -- users will never again need to know any other contact information about the person they are communicating with other than their name; the application will do the rest."

BlueTie's Information Autocompletion System was approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office without any objection. This invention is one of four patents that were applied for by the company beginning in 2000, patent approval for the other three are still pending.
