BlueTie Wins ad:tech Award for Best B2B Transaction Web Site
Introduces New Model to Monetize Web-based Software
ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 30, 2007 — BlueTie, Inc. (www.bluetie.com), a leading provider of hosted email and calendaring solutions for small to mid-sized businesses (SMB) and service providers, today announced that it has won the ad:tech Award for the Best Business-to-Business (B2B) Transaction Web Site. The award honors the top Web site that supports the sale and distribution of B2B products. BlueTie was recognized for its Featuretisements™, the unobtrusive, on-demand integration of business services that simplify everyday tasks.
Held in San Francisco on April 25 as part of the ad:tech San Francisco Conference, the awards ceremony hosted the top marketing and advertising leaders from various industries and recognized the most talented designers and strategic thinkers in interactive marketing. BlueTie's Featuretisements technology creates a new advertising model for the Web-based business software segment. While other Web-based e-mail and software companies rely on banner ads or keyword-based text ads to deliver marketing messages and product offerings to users, Featuretisements serve both users and advertisers by providing relevant functionality to users while simultaneously providing advertisers with exclusive access to new customers. Moreover, BlueTie has designed a cost per action-based model, ensuring that partners pay only when their services are generating revenue.
“We are honored to be recognized by ad:tech and its constituents for our work in developing Featuretisements as a new way of monetizing Web-based business software,” said David Koretz, President and CEO of BlueTie, Inc. “The advertising and marketing industry has sought new ways of monetizing hosted applications and we believe we have struck the perfect balance of providing users what they need and providing business with a marketing venue.”
Business.com, the leading b-to-b search engine, is one of the initial business services integrated with BlueTie applications. This integration allows BlueTie users to quickly find the business products and services they need without leaving the application window. Users can simply drag over and click on any term within an e-mail and instantly launch a search through Business.com.
“We're very pleased to be working with BlueTie to deliver additional value to their SMB customers and our advertisers,” said Todd Sims, Vice President, Business & Corporate Development for Business.com. “Business.com's mission is to help business decision makers quickly find everything they need to manage, grow and be successful in their businesses. BlueTie's design and integration bring the benefits of Business.com directly into the user workflow, further improving SMB user productivity as they collaborate, learn, find solutions and make purchases for their businesses.”
BlueTie has been a leader in Web-based free and low-cost email, file sharing and calendaring solutions for small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs). The first Featuretisement offerings were launched with Business.com, MapQuest and Orbitz. Additional planned offerings include blogs, dinner reservations and entertainment ticket purchasing.
